Meet the team
Elysia has been part of the Brighton team since joining the salon as an Assistant in 2018. Having excelled in all areas of her training, she is now a fully qualified Stylist and a great addition to the team.
Elysia loves hairdressing because “it's always interesting” and she’s happiest when she sees how making the simplest change to a guest’s cut can make them feel immediately more confident. Elysia chose Trevor Sorbie because “it’s simply the best in the business” and loves the warm atmosphere in the Brighton salon.
During her time at Trevor Sorbie Elysia has entered the yearly Assistant Competitions which have really allowed her to be creative and to bring together the latest trends in fashion and hair to create a brand-new bespoke look.
Having been at Trevor Sorbie for a number of years now, Ruby sees the Brighton team as family. Being recently promoted to Senior Technician has been her greatest achievement so far, and she can’t wait to see what’s in store for her next.
Loreal colour specialist. Originally trained in Australia, Josh specialises in natural colour work, especially free-hand balayage. Hairdressing has enriched his life and has enabled him to travel and connect with people from all over the world. He loves using the Pureology range as it takes care of his guests' colour perfectly.
Having always been interested in hair and with a desire to make people feel good about themselves, hairdressing was a natural fit for Jade. In her 12 years with Trevor Sorbie, Jade gone from salon assistant through to being promoted to Colour Director. She is now also teaching the new generation of assistants to come up through the salon ranks.
Jade never wants to stop pushing herself within hair so she can “just keep getting better”. Everyone in the Brighton team is like family and “respects, pushes and supports each other” so there is no better place for Jade to keep growing.
Jamie has always had a creative flair, and felt the best way for him to express this was through hairdressing. He wanted to work with Trevor Sorbie as "he is an inspiration and I'm glad I work as part of his brand." Teaching is his favourite part of his job, and his future ambition is to progress in his training of the salon assistants. When asked when the last time he felt proud to be a hairdresser was, he answered "everyday I come into work".
Kate has been with Trevor Sorbie for almost 20 years and was part of the Brighton team when the salon first opened in 2003. She’s still “pound every day to work as a hairdresser” and despite the full length of her career, to “always keep learning” is the best advice she could give to anyone. Kate's favourite part of her job is spending time with her loyal guests and outside of the salon it’s her family that come first.
Kate’s had a number of amazing achievements, but winning the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Men's Image is definitely a highlight for her.
Jake became a hairdresser for the freedom of creativity it offered, inspired by his love of art and sculpture. He joined Trevor Sorbie as we 'produce some of the best talent in the industry', and his goals for the future are to direct his own team, and continue developing his own skills. Jake's hair icon is Michelle Williams as she 'wears short so well', and the best career advice he's ever received is 'there is no right or wrong way - it's like a signature. Now go and find yours!'
Briony describes working at Trevor Sorbie as her greatest hairdressing achievement, and she knew she would always be a hairdresser as "my nan always told me I would be!" Her favourite part of her job is meeting new people and making them feel and look great, and her best career advice is "follow your heart and passion". She's well known in the salon for making a mean chilli con carné, and loves being a part of such a great team.
Senior Top Stylist
Peter moved to Brighton 4 years ago, and begun working at Trevor Sorbie as "it was THE salon in Brighton to work at." His favourite part of his job is being creative, and having the opportunity to work on shoots and inspiration evenings with the Art Team 2. His career mantra is 'nothing in life worth having comes easily', and his most treasured possession is his dog Western.
Senior Top Stylist
Sami loves hairdressing as it challenges her creatively whilst also enabling her guests to feel great about themselves. “Allowing someone to feel beautiful and have new-found confidence in their hair is an amazing gift to give someone”. This, along with building great relationships with her guests and “never falling out of love with what she does”, are the most important things about her job.
Aside from hairdressing Sami enjoys travelling, exercising and putting her creativity to arts & crafts.
Director/Assistant Head of Education
Rosie has achieved great things since joining the salon almost 10 years ago - she is now Assistant Head of Education as well as a Styling Director. The best career advice she's ever received is to always listen to your client, love what you do and train yourself to perfection. Her favourite iconic hairstyle is the bob, as "it's so timeless and can be worn so many different ways", and she loves the challenge of cutting one perfectly.
Senior Director/Head of Education
Adele has been with Trevor Sorbie for over a decade, and is the Head of Education for the salon. Her favourite part of her job is inspiring the assistants who she teaches, and helping them build their careers in hairdressing.
