trevor sorbie honorary doctorate

On 11th July at the UWS Paisley Campus graduation ceremony, Trevor Sorbie will be presented with an Honorary Doctorate. This Doctorate is to recognise his outstanding contribution in the field of business and entrepreneurship, and social awareness of suffering in cancer patients.

Trevor spent his formative years in Paisley, somewhere he recently revisited as part of a documentary to celebrate over 50 years in the hairdressing industry. Therefore, it seems fitting that he will receive his honorary doctorate at the Paisley Campus. It will also be an important day for the charity mynewhair which Trevor founded over 10 years ago. Starting out as a idea inspired by Trevor’s personal experience of cutting a wig for his sister-in-law, mynewhair aims to make wig personalisation a service that is available worldwide, by experts who have been trained by Trevor and his team. With the support of L’Oréal, this concept has already begun its global journey, to ensure there is help and support available to women all over the world.
